How to Play Video PokerThe Game Video Poker is a solitaire game of five-card draw Poker. The object of the game is to create the best possible Poker hand. You are dealt five cards to start. You have the option of holding or discarding each of the five cards. After selecting the cards you wish to hold, you draw new cards to replace the ones you have discarded. If your final hand is a winning hand, the machine pays out a multiple of your bet. There are several varieties of Video Poker available, and the amount the machine pays out depends on the variety. In general, the better your hand is, the more the machine pays out. Some varieties pay up to 800/1 for a royal flush! The joker in Video Poker is a wild card that may represent any card needed to complete a hand. The joker appears only in some varieties of Video Poker. In some varieties, deuces (twos) are wild. When a deuce is wild, the word "WILD" appears on it. Starting the Game To play Video Poker, choose a machine from the Video Poker menu in the Casino Lobby. You may choose from a variety of games and a range of coin values. Some machines play for as little as 25 ¢ per credit, while some play for up to five dollars per credit. Game Display The Video Poker display consists of the following:
Placing a Bet You may bet by clicking on the Bet 1 button once for each credit, or by clicking on the Bet 5 button to bet the maximum. Betting the maximum starts the deal. If you bet less than the maximum, you must press the Deal/Draw button to start the deal. As you advance your bet, the payout amount column for your bet is highlighted in the pay chart. Playing the Game After the initial deal, you must decide which cards to hold and which to discard. If you do nothing, you discard all five cards! To hold a card, click on the Hold button beneath the card, or on the card itself. A "HOLD" indicator appears on the card. If you decide to discard a card that you have clicked on, simply click it again. The "HOLD" indicator disappears. When you are satisfied with your selection, click on the Deal/Draw button to draw new cards. If your have a winning hand, the corresponding row in the pay chart is highlighted and the Last Win display shows how many credits you have won. Double-Up In the "Double Up" version of Video Poker, you get the chance to double your winnings each time the machine pays out. The game proceeds as regular Video Poker until you receive a winning hand. Then the words "Double Up?" appear on the screen and two Hold buttons light up. One button is labeled "Yes," the other "No." If you wish for a chance to double your winnings, click the Yes button. The machine responds by dealing one card face up, the rest face down. The face-up card is the house's card. You must now select your card from among the four face-down cards by clicking the card or its Hold button. The machine turns the four cards up, one at a time. If the card you choose beats the house's card, your winnings on the previous hand are doubled. (Ace is high, deuce is low.) Otherwise, you forfeit your winnings. If you win a round of double-up, the machine offers "Double Up?" again! You can double up to ten times, or 1024 times your original winnings! Shockwave In a game with the "Shockwave" feature, drawing any four of a kind while the machine is "charged" wins as much as a royal flush! Any four of a kind charges the machine. While the machine is charged, a "Charged" sign flashes at the top of the machine. The machine remains charged for 10 plays, or until you draw four of a kind to win the Shockwave! Exiting the Game Click Exit to exit the game and return to the Casino Lobby. If a hand is in progress, please finish the hand before exiting the game.
